Our young model Stanley! Stanley is sweet lad, who really values his human friends, and the treats they can give him. Stanley is originally from Romania, and came to the UK via another rescue. He was placed in a home, suffered terrible ear infection which was left untreated and was returned to the rescue before coming to us. We now understand that these ear infections may have been caused by underlying allergies which he suffers with. At the kennels he is fine with them but our vets have suggested that he may require to be on a medication called apoquel to keep the infection at bay should they reoccur when in a new home environment. Something a new family would need to be aware of.
As a little dog, Stanley is a delight to spend time with, he has great lead manners, and will perform sits as and when he needs to! We noticed he started to become reactive to traffic, and sometimes other dogs when on the lead, so as a team we started to train him to sit and take treats as cars/other dogs pass by; we have seen amazing results instantly, and we would encourage Stanley’s new family to keep this up. Stanley needs to be an only dog in the home as he does prefer to be the center of attention but Stanley's family would need to keep him socialised as it is good for him to continue having canine interractions.
Stanley’s ideal home will be an active, affectionate adult only home, with no other pets, and a family with the passion to continue with his ongoing training. He is used to car journeys, and the domestic lifestyle, he is also housetrained. He is not suited to a very central location or a flat, he will prefer a somewhat quieter sub-urban or semi rural/rural location. He also needs an experienced, relaxed, confident and balanced family. He can be a little anxious of new situations and he needs people who won't feed his anxiety, but rather help him blossom into the wonderful little dog we know he can be.

Note:
All our dogs go on home trial for two weeks before an adoption. We offer post adoption support and access to a behaviourist and trainer for the life of our dogs.
