The gorgeous Henry. Another pooch originally from Romania, Henry came to us via another rescue as a young, anxious, and fearful dog. Having not been exposed to domestic dog life (the lead was a very foreign concept!), Henry needed us here at LU to slowly build his trust. The idea of being taken out for a walk with a handler was once a terrifying ordeal for him; now, he loves nothing more than to see you approach with that same lead! You can find him play-bowing and eagerly wiggling his bum and tail, with soft eyes and a relaxed face. Human interaction for Henry used to be pretty alien- you can now find him at your side, checking in throughout walks, and giving you a good sniff over for some treats! Henry is very intelligent, and will never turn down a free work or puzzle session. He finds great enjoyment in having an activity to do, and when you look into his eyes you can feel he is always thinking. He is still a young boy and he has his whole life ahead of him to soak up all the opportunities and happiness a loving home could give him. Henry is a dog that you will really take notice of the small wins, and those precious moments will mean so much to you and him both.

Henry has come such a long way in terms of his anxieties around people, but he is still a little unsure when he is in

very close proximity to people and can be touch sensitive. He requires patience and understanding- some days he will really appreciate strokes and fuss, and some he will prefer to ride solo! As mentioned, those small wins where he wants a fuss will mean a hundred times more than usual. Henry is generally good with most other dogs on lead and in our enclosed field, and he is especially great with females.

Henry has effectively completed his journey with Love UnderDogs, we have provided him with the tools to be his own dog and have shown him that he can trust people once more. He now needs a family to continue his journey, to give him the time and love he needs and deserves, so that his confidence can continue to grow. You will not only give this beautiful boy a fantastic life, but he will enrich yours just as much!

Henry would love to live in an adult only home as an only dog, and he would prefer a location close to lovely walking areas. He loves to follow his nose and really investigate his surroundings- long walks for Henry are like his meditation! Multiple visits are needed to build a good level of trust. All our dogs go on home trial for two weeks before an adoption. We offer post adoption support and access to a behaviourist and trainer for the life of our dogs.
