Our Dogs...

Important Notes

You may not see the right dog for you on the selection below, but by all means do send us an application, as we always have other dogs coming in, and very often, not all our dogs feature on the website.

Only families have who been homechecked AND who have an appointment with the kennel team within the following 2 weeks to view a dog will have priority viewing on their first choice.

Simona arrived in the UK having spent the last 5+ years of her life in a Romanian shelter. Despite having had very little life experience, she is an incredible girl with absolute bags of character. She is golden, we cannot fault her. She is a Carpathian shepherd, with all the traits of the breed, loyal and instinctive. She spent much of her life sharing a kennel with another dog who has now been adopted and she has been on foster with another calm younger girl. She will adapt fine with canine siblings. She does have a real penchant for other shepherds though, so a home with another shepherd might be great for her but not an obligation. She is an extremely intelligent girl who has proved to be very adaptable during her time in foster. She walks lovely with other dogs and has thoroughly enjoyed the new experience that is going for walks. She absolutely loves this new activity and would enjoy an active home even though she is an older lady. Carpathian shepherds have a longer life expectancy than German shepherds, so despite her age she still has hopefully many years ahead of her.
At the kennels, she sits at the front watches the world go by, she is a calm and patient girl with a nice fun side too. You cannot help but totally love her when you meet her.
Simona has spent a few days in foster and the feedback from her family was that she was the easiest dogs they ever fostered! What a glowing report! We would not place her with children as it is our policy to rehome our seniors in adult only homes, but she is a gentle dog who gets on with everyone.
This is what Jon and Fransesca who have had her in foster for a few days reported:
'She's been an absolute delight. Settled brilliantly, with no issues and has got on brilliantly with Jess, our dog. Every day she gets more and more comfortable and trusting of you, and shows all the Shepherd traits of loyalty. On walks she is good on lead and has made many doggy and human friends in her time with us, she loves playing with other Shepherds, and I think she'd love a home with another Shepherd. With other dogs will just give them a sniff and a tail wag. She can be a little wary of small dogs (pugs, french bulldogs) on walks, she's just cautious around them. She is nervous of big groups and loud noises, and will simply attempt to retreat, but she is a brave girl and as she trusts you she does conquer her fears. She managed 2-3 walks a day without any issue, and she enjoys a walk just before bed time to sleep better. We've loved every dog we've fostered, but we would both agree she has been the easiest, both in and out the house, and we'd welcome her back any time.'
If you can offer this beautiful girl a loving home, please get in touch via the application form online.
