Our Dogs...

Important Notes

You may not see the right dog for you on the selection below, but by all means do send us an application, as we always have other dogs coming in, and very often, not all our dogs feature on the website.

Only families have who been homechecked AND who have an appointment with the kennel team within the following 2 weeks to view a dog will have priority viewing on their first choice.

Note: Robinson needs a family committed to visiting him a few times before an adoption to bond with him.
Robinson is a very endearing boy who does give the best smiles! There is nothing quite like his face when people he knows visit him! He is still a young dog, who arrived at the shelter in Romania as an abandoned puppy. He is a relatively small dog at only 18kg, the photos can be deceptive. He is about the size of a large beagle. He is a lovely and very attaching dog who has a real sense of fun in him. He also quite fancies a role as someone's lap dog at times. Robinson has spent time in foster so knows the basic and is house trained.
He is very good with everyone he knows well, Robinson however lacks confidence around strangers and in new situations, we are therefore asking any interested family to visit a few times to help his confidence. He would also benefit from being in a family confident that they can read a dogs well, he is a sensitive boy and he needs to be with people who are switched on. For the same reason we would not place him in a home with children. He very much enjoy his walks and time out, so active families are a must. He goes running with Faye, one of the kennel staff, as she is training for a marathon and he is her training partner. Faye absolutely adores him as do all the kennels team and staff, he just needs the opportunity to show what he's really made of to anyone new. Robinson has a lot of energy and really needs the opportunity to spend it. If it involves water, all the better! If there is any sign of H2O our friend is there as you can judge by his bath pictures! He has also been joining in play groups and socialisation sessions and done very well indeed. We know that this young man has the potential to make someone really happy.
We are looking to place Robinson in a family with confident dogs.
Robinson has spent some time at home with our volunteer Pamela and here is what she has to say about our boy:
'Robinson has spent now three weekends with us . He started off unsure of just about everything except how much he enjoys having a garden to run freely in and our dogs for company. He thoroughly enjoys going on walks, rolling in long grass and swimming in the local stream. He's a wonderful dog. Once he trusts you and feels safe he's eager to please, full of fun with loads of energy.'
If you feel that you may be right for Robinson and he may be right for your family, please contact us via an enquiry form online.
