Our Dogs...

IMPORTANT NOTES: Only families have who been homechecked AND who have an appointment with the kennel team within the following 2 weeks to view a dog will have priority viewing on their first choice.

Also, whilst some dogs may not be showing as 'Reserved' on the website, they may already have interest. If the dog you are interested in ends up not being the one for you, don't be disheartened, we have many wonderful dogs coming into the rescue regularly and the right friend will be out there for you, as this has proved to be the case time and time again with families who have adopted from us.

My name is:

LOCATION: Waltham Abbey
Phoebe is the most wonderful dog you could possibly meet. She has the sweetest nature despite the hard life she has had and everyone who meet her absolutely fall in love with her. Phoebe is originally from Romania but not from our partner's shelter. She had a home for a few years in the UK and when the family's circumstances changed, they could not keep her anymore and she came to us.
Phoebe is a dog who has been affected by a previous trauma to the head and consequently has difficulties with walking and general movement. Please look at the little video we have on her profile to get an idea of how she is.

She was seen by one of the UK's best neurology team at the Willows clinic. She had an MRI scan of her brain to understand the reason behind her movement disorder, which showed a fracture that she would have sustained a long time ago to the back of her skull. The impact has caused some damage to the part of the brain which controls accuracy of movement. So when, for example, Phoebe wants to move her head to take a treat, her intentions are not translated properly and she may miss the hand with the treat. The issue is not progressive so what you see is what you get. She would struggles with stairs and it takes a little longer for her to get through a walk but otherwise she is a fabulous dog who just wants to live as normal a life as she can. Other than her physical limitations, Phoebe is the perfect dog in every way, she has the most adorable nature and a very sunny personality. She tries to do all the things a normal dog would, she likes to engage in play with other dogs, go for walks and above all she likes a cuddle with her people. We would not place Phoebe with children as she is an older dog. We know that she will bring a home much happiness. If you are able to offer this beautiful little dog a loving forever home, please enquire via our enquiry form on the website.
