Our Dogs...

IMPORTANT NOTES: Only families have who been homechecked AND who have an appointment with the kennel team within the following 2 weeks to view a dog will have priority viewing on their first choice.

Also, whilst some dogs may not be showing as 'Reserved' on the website, they may already have interest. If the dog you are interested in ends up not being the one for you, don't be disheartened, we have many wonderful dogs coming into the rescue regularly and the right friend will be out there for you, as this has proved to be the case time and time again with families who have adopted from us.

Hello

My name is:

Coffee

LOCATION: Waltham Abbey, Essex
Coffee is a truly wonderful and endearing young boy who sadly has already suffered a great deal in his short life. He had a break on a front leg and is deaf in the right ear, but this has not stopped him being a class A student at training. He is by far one of our most intelligent dogs. He loves playing with his toys and enjoys a good run around with other dogs. Coffee is a real clown in the playground and get everyone laughing with his antics. A family with a good sense of humour would be good for him. Coffee can be a little immature at times for his age, and will need a home well versed in dog behaviour and intuitive in order to help coffee develop into a balanced adult. He certainly has the potential to become a truly incredible dog. Coffee is typically a dog who will appeal to someone looking for an exceptional boy to work with. He could not do agility at any high level due to his injuries but we could see Coffee do well at scent work or graduate to high level training. Engaging activities will be essential for him to be kept stimulated and mentally challenged, being such a bright boy. For anyone who enjoys the shepherd breed he would be a dream of a dog.
Coffee has never lived in a home and his family will need to teach him about all things domestic, but we are sure that he will learn things quickly. We think that he is a shepherd/hound cross so anticipate some of the shepherd and hound traits to come through as he gets older.
We would only place Coffee in an experienced home, committed to training and socialisation. Coffee hasn't been with us very long but already has progressed greatly. He has huge potential and with Coffee you have a truly incredible dog in the making. He gets very attached to his handlers and the people he bonds with but we know this will get better with consistent guidance. In the time he has been with us he has learned a lot, he now shares his toys with other dogs and plays nicely. Coffee absolutely LOVES attention and being in a kennel they only get limited one on one time, having his own family will bring him much happiness. Families should not underestimate the work involved in helping a young dog develop into a well-adjusted adult. He will need a family prepared to invest in his development through continued training and to meet all his physical and emotional needs. For this reason, we will only place youngsters and puppies with families who have demonstrated their commitment to a young dog's needs through our vetting process.
If you are interested in offering Coffee a home, please get in touch via our application form online.
