Our Dogs...

IMPORTANT NOTES: Only families have who been homechecked AND who have an appointment with the kennel team within the following 2 weeks to view a dog will have priority viewing on their first choice.

Also, whilst some dogs may not be showing as 'Reserved' on the website, they may already have interest. If the dog you are interested in ends up not being the one for you, don't be disheartened, we have many wonderful dogs coming into the rescue regularly and the right friend will be out there for you, as this has proved to be the case time and time again with families who have adopted from us.

My name is:

LOCATION: Lichfield, Staffordshire
Chinook needs to be visited on a number of occasions to get to know him.
Chinook is a beautiful Carpathian Shepherd dog, with a very playful nature. He loves the company of people and is most definitely a cuddle monster. Since his arrival with us, Chinook has been training daily with his handler Ruth and regularly goes home with her, he is therefore house trained and used to domestic life. He responds very well to her, walks beautifully on the lead and in the home is very relaxed. He is a very easy dog to have around. He has also learnt a lot of commands, which is important for a dog of his size. Chinook is incredibly intelligent, he learns quickly and enjoys training. We are therefore looking for a family committed to keeping up with his training. He is a truly remarkable dog, with the most endearing nature and once you've gained his trust and respect he is extremely affectionate, loyal and obedient. He has a huge personality and everyone who meet him fall in love with this big boy. He likes other dogs and often initiates play but at times he can be intimidating to other dogs due to his sheer size and clumsy nature. So if you currently have dogs, a careful introduction is necessary but as you can see on the photos he really enjoys the company of dogs of all sizes. Rosie, one of our small girls immediately fell in love with him and has enjoyed spending some time with him.
We would only rehome Chinook to a very experienced home due to his size and breed, shepherd experience or similar preferably. For anyone who loves shepherds, their temperaments and big personalities, he is an absolute dream. We would not however place Chinook in a home with children or visiting children due to his size and strength. If you are interested in offering a home to a stunning Carpathian shepherd with a very sunny personality, please do get in touch by filling in an application form.
